Vynder

Privacy policy

Last updated 1 November 2026

Vynder is an app for finding vinyl records for sale. It is run by an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law. You can contact us at hello@vynder.co.uk.

The short version

Vynder has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics. We don't sell or share personal data. What you save in the app stays on your phone.

What stays on your device

Records you pick out and searches you save are stored only on your phone. They are deleted when you remove them in the app or delete the app.

What is sent to marketplaces

To find listings, the words you search for and your search filters (such as price range) are sent to the marketplaces Vynder searches: eBay and Vinted. Like any website you visit, these services also receive your device's IP address. Their own privacy policies apply to that data:

When you open a listing, it opens on the marketplace's own website or app, and anything you do there is covered by that marketplace's terms and privacy policy.

Listening for music

If you use the listen feature, Vynder asks for microphone access. Apple's ShazamKit turns a few seconds of sound into an anonymous audio signature and matches it against Shazam's catalogue. Vynder does not record or store audio. The name of the matched song is then looked up on Apple's iTunes service to find its album. See Apple's privacy policy.

You can turn off microphone access at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Children

Vynder is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data about you. Because Vynder does not keep personal data on its own servers, most requests can be met by deleting the app. If you have a question or concern, email hello@vynder.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
